Lebanese Central Bank issues statement regarding medications

The Governor of the Lebanese Central Bank, Riad Salameh, issued the following statement on Monday:

"The Governor of the Central Bank will pay the credits and bills that will be submitted to the Central Bank by banks related to medications, especially medications for chronic and incurable diseases, according to the priorities set by the Health Ministry based on the government’s decision communicated to it on Friday, July 2, 2021, within an amount not exceeding 400 million dollars. The amount also covers other imports, including flour, to ensure respect for the proportion of mandatory investments."
