انحرفت سيارة على طريق بر الياس الداخلية وفقد سائقها الجندي خالد أحمد السيطرة عليها لتنحرف وتصطدم بعمود الكهرباء إلى جانب الطريق ما أدى إلى مصرع أحمد بسبب حدة الصدمة وقوتها. وقد تولت الشرطة العسكرية التحقيق في الحادث.
