Bassil kicks off Russia visit, says Israel "unable" to plunder Lebanon's oil wealth

Caretaker Energy Minister, Gebran Bassil, kicked off Tuesday his state visit to Russia, where he is set to ink a bilateral agreement on beefing up Lebanon's oil resources sector.

"Signing the agreement with Russia tomorrow proves that we are serious in moving forward with the oil dossier," Bassil said in an interview with Russia Today channel.

He mainly stressed that Israel was unable to plunder Lebanon's oil wealth, stressing that his country "is today capable of deterring Israel."

Bassil sounded the alarm over the rampant spate of Takfirsm, warning that if it invades Lebanon, it will expand across the entire Middle Eastern countries.

Regarding Syria, the minister said that democracy meant not to impose convictions by force and threats, praising Russia's utter rejection of any war in the region.
