Turkey's military said on Saturday one of its soldiers was killed, and another wounded, in northern Iraq after rockets fired by Islamic State during clashes with Iraqi Kurdish peshmerga landed in a base where Turkish troops were deployed.
"Islamic State targets identified in the region have been shot back at," the army said in a statement on its web site, adding the wounded soldier was transferred to a hospital in Turkey's southeastern province of Sirnak.
