Member of Parliament, Mohammad Hajjar, confirmed on Monday that contacts were underway on the lead to a new electoral law. The lawmaker also suggested the possibility to technically extend the Parliament's deadline, pending a final agreement on a new electoral formula.
During an interview, Hajjar spurned any attempt to adopt the 60's Law. He also refused any scenario that might submerge the country in a state of political vacuum.
Touching on the KSA summit, the MP described it as a detrimental crossroad that would surely reverberate across the region.
"The Lebanese state and institutions are fully committed to fighting terrorism at the current stage," he added, highlighting the importance of Lebanon's participation in the summit.
