The U.S. military said Saturday that four people were killed in a strike targeting a boat in the Caribbean Sea that it said was being used for drug trafficking operations.

The U.S. Southern Command said in a post on X: “Intelligence confirmed that the vessel was actively involved in drug trafficking. Four narco-terrorists were killed as a result of the operation.”

The strike is part of a U.S. military campaign targeting drug-trafficking networks in the Caribbean and eastern Pacific, with Southern Command describing some of the groups targeted as “narco-terrorist organizations.”

The command has announced similar operations in recent months against boats it said were traveling along known drug-trafficking routes.
