At a time when efforts to preserve Lebanon’s environment and green nature are increasing through various tree-planting and awareness campaigns, there are those who continue to harm the environment by cutting down trees in broad daylight right in the heart of Matn, openly and in front of everyone, including the landowner.

To elaborate, a citizen named René Mouawad Kaado cut down a large area of trees on land he does not own in the Naccache area of Matn. This caused a shock to the landowner, cosmetic doctor Nader Saab, who found his land resembling a massacre that could take many years to reforest.
