The spokesperson for the Israeli army Avichay Adraee wrote on X:

"Earlier today, the IDF struck in the Mansouri area in southern Lebanon and eliminated Mohammad Jamal Mourad, who served as the artillery commander in the coastal sector for Hezbollah.

Mourad was responsible for numerous rocket launches toward the State of Israel during the war and, in recent months, had made several attempts to rebuild artillery capabilities in the coastal area.

Mourad’s activities posed a threat to the security of the State of Israel and its citizens, and constituted a blatant violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon.

The IDF will continue to act to eliminate any threat to the State of Israel."
