Deputy Prime Minister Tarek Mitri returned from New York after leading Lebanon’s delegation at the High-Level International Conference on the Peaceful Resolution of the Palestinian Question and the Two-State Solution. 

Held at the UN headquarters on July 28–29 under Saudi-French co-chairmanship, the conference gathered representatives from 126 countries. 

Mitri reaffirmed Lebanon’s commitment to the Arab Peace Initiative and UN Resolution 1701, while condemning Israeli violations. The final statement urged an immediate Gaza ceasefire, Palestinian unity, and international backing for reconstruction and a UN-mandated stabilization force. 

Mitri held several bilateral meetings on the sidelines.
