Minister of Labor Mohammad Haidar held a series of meetings at his office, starting with the Director of UNRWA Affairs in Lebanon, Dr. Dorothee Klaus, and Mustafa Said, Regional Labor Activities Advisor at the ILO’s Arab States office.

Following the meeting, Dr. Klaus stated that discussions focused on improving the employment conditions of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon by exploring new job opportunities within the framework of Lebanese laws and legislative provisions governing their status. She praised Minister Haidar’s openness and proactive approach in supporting Palestinian graduates’ access to the labor market and helping them enjoy their rights.

Later, Minister Haidar received a delegation from the Union of Private Educational Institutions in Lebanon, headed by its General Coordinator, Father Youssef Nasr. The delegation presented a letter outlining demands to improve the conditions of teachers and workers in both public and private sectors, particularly regarding social security contributions in private schools.

The union urged the issuance of a Cabinet decree to establish minimum and maximum thresholds for monthly contributions to the National Social Security Fund, in line with practices in other private sectors.
