Bank Employees’ Union warns of escalation amid mediation deadlock
The Executive Council of the Bank Employees’ Union issued a statement following the latest mediation session with the Association of Banks in Lebanon.

The union praised the impartiality of the Ministry of Labor’s mediator but accused the Association’s representative of stalling tactics and avoiding substantive negotiations on renewing the collective labor contract, pending since 2022.

Warning that such conduct undermines the ministry’s mediation efforts, the union said continued delays will spark escalatory actions, including potential strikes.

It also criticized parliamentarians for rejecting proposals on compensation within the banking restructuring law, announcing preparations for a protest in Beirut’s banking district.
