Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, stated that “Hezbollah represents a formidable barrier against the Israeli entity and sacrifices itself for the people.”
After meeting with Parliament Nabih Berri at Ain El-Tineh, he said: “I commend Sheikh Naim Qassem’s initiative toward Saudi Arabia and support it; the Kingdom is a brotherly country to us, and consultations are taking place between us.” He added that Qassem’s stance is absolutely correct, and Hezbollah is a genuine movement in Lebanon and the Islamic world; it sacrifices itself for the well-being of the people, and we welcome any political development that serves to support the Lebanese people.”
Larijani pointed out that “Lebanon is a friendly country to Iran, and part of my visit is dedicated to honoring the resistance leaders who were martyred defending their homeland.”
He continued: “I had a constructive and beneficial meeting with Berri, we discussed strengthening bilateral relations, and we look forward to seeing the countries of the region strong and independent.” He also emphasized that “the countries of the region must cooperate with one another in the face of Israel, set their disputes aside, and adopt solidarity as the foundation of their relations.”
Larijani said that “Us Envoy Barrack’s stance was driven by anger. Saudi Arabia is a Muslim country and Hezbollah is a genuine Islamic movement, and there should be no disputes that escalate to the point of creating a rift between the two sides.”
He noted that “Iran believes that Lebanese officials must find solutions to domestic issues. The Lebanese people are wise, and there is no need for the Americans to appoint themselves as their overseers,” adding that “Hezbollah is strong and does not need to acquire weapons from elsewhere.”
Larijani concluded: “Hezbollah’s approach, aiming to move past previous conflicts and set aside differences with others, is rooted in rationality, and I do not see any weakness in this approach.”
