Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Bechara Boutros Rahi, opened the 58th ordinary session of the Council of Catholic Patriarchs and Bishops at the Patriarchal See in Bkerke, under the theme “Toward a More Synodal Church that Listens with Faith, Discerns with Wisdom, and Acts by the Spirit’s Inspiration.”
In his opening remarks, Rahi welcomed the council’s new members, thanked those who completed their service, and outlined the agenda, including the Church’s synodal path, reforms, and preparations for Pope Leo XIV’s Apostolic Visit to Lebanon. He called for nationwide prayers and bell ringing to mark the Pope’s arrival on November 30.
