Minister of Interior and Municipalities Ahmad al-Hajjar, chaired a meeting attended by Director General of Internal Security Forces Maj. Gen. Raed Abdallah, Gendarmerie Commander Brig. Gen. Jean Awad, Beirut Police Commander Brig. Gen. Imad Al-Jamal, members of the committee tasked with following up on the motorcycle file, and traffic-related officers.

The meeting reviewed executive measures to implement two decisions issued by al-Hajjar: prohibiting companies, institutions, showrooms, and traders from handing over any motorcycle before it is duly registered, and regulating the operation of valet parking services.

Regarding motorcycles, al-Hajjar stressed the need to curb violations, particularly the failure to wear helmets and reckless driving. He instructed the ISF to intensify awareness campaigns, take legal action against violators, and facilitate procedures for paying traffic fines, underscoring that compliance with traffic law is essential for road safety.

Discussions also covered traffic conditions, especially in Beirut, daily congestion challenges during peak hours, and proposals to ease congestion and improve sustainable traffic flow. Al-Hajjar emphasized strict enforcement of valet parking regulations.
