Cyprus Embassy to accept only Lebanese Biometric passports for visa applications as of September 1
The Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Lebanon announced in a statement on the X platform that, "As of September 1, 2026, only Lebanese biometric passports will be accepted for visa applications to travel to Cyprus."

The Embassy explained that "holders of a valid long-term Cypriot visa issued in a non-biometric passport may continue to use their visa, provided that they travel with both the canceled non-biometric passport containing the visa, and their new valid biometric passport."

It noted that "this measure follows the announcement by the Lebanese General Directorate of General Security regarding the cancellation of non-biometric passports."
