Public Institutions Lose Power Over Outstanding Bills
Électricité du Liban (EDL) began cutting electricity on Monday to public administrations, institutions and municipalities that had failed to settle their outstanding bills or contact the utility within the deadline set for payment.

The state-owned power utility thanked entities that had paid all or part of their arrears, while urging those that made partial payments to settle their remaining balances within 10 days.

EDL stressed that regular bill collection is essential to maintaining the continuity of electricity supply, particularly amid ongoing financial pressures and rising fuel costs.

The utility said the measures are being applied uniformly to ensure the recovery of public funds, equal treatment among subscribers and the continuity of electricity services.
