Tehran was hit by a severe storm that resulted in two deaths and more than 40 injuries, according to the country’s Emergency Operations Center.

The winds that swept through the capital, Tehran, reached a speed of 72 kilometers per hour, while heavy rains and strong winds caused billboards and hundreds of trees to fall, leading to material damage to property and power outages in parts of several cities, including Isfahan.

Rescue teams and municipal services immediately began working to clean the streets and remove obstacles from main and secondary roads, while efforts were made by the relevant authorities to restore electricity to the affected areas.

Local authorities have urged citizens to avoid open areas until further notice.
