Two women were injured due to gunfire inside the campus of Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology in Inglewood, California. The police apprehended a suspect after a brief chase.

Officials reported that the incident caused panic among students and staff, who were either evacuated from the premises or instructed to shelter inside buildings.

Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts Jr. stated that the suspect, a former employee of the college, was wearing an outfit resembling a security guard uniform and carrying a rifle.

The suspect was identified with the help of a description of his vehicle and its license plate, leading to his arrest by Los Angeles police in the Koreatown area.

Butts confirmed that the motive behind the incident was related to work at the school, indicating it was not a random act. A 9mm shell casing was found at the scene.

According to authorities, security and police teams searched the campus room by room for over an hour, without finding any additional victims or suspects.
