For the first time since their dispute, business magnate Elon Musk was seen speaking with US President Donald Trump in the presidential box during the memorial service for right-wing activist Charlie Kirk.
Live footage from the service showed Musk sitting briefly next to Trump, talking to him, then shaking his hand before leaving the venue. Musk was also seen speaking with Republican politicians and waving to the crowds attending the memorial.
CNN reported that “Trump’s meeting with his former close friend inside the presidential box at the memorial for right-wing activist Charlie Kirk appears to be the first time the two have been seen together publicly since Trump honored Musk at the conclusion of his service at the Ministry of Government Efficiency last May.”
Later, a sharp dispute broke out between them on social media over disagreements regarding the president’s spending bill and Musk’s threats to establish a new political party.
