British police announced that two people were killed in a stabbing attack outside a synagogue on Middleton Street in Manchester.
Authorities had earlier reported four injuries in the incident. A third person, believed to be the attacker, was also killed after police shot him. Prime Minister Keir Starmer expressed his "shock" at the attack, condemning its timing during Yom Kippur, which he said made it "even more horrific."
He added that additional police reinforcements will be deployed at synagogues across the country.
