U.S. media reported that a truck rammed into a crowd of demonstrators in the city of Los Angeles who were taking part in a protest against the Iranian regime, leading to severe injuries.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, firefighters received reports on Sunday afternoon of a truck that had driven into a gathering of people. Upon arriving at the scene, two injured individuals were assessed, but both refused treatment by fire crews or transport to the hospital.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed on X that a man had been struck by the truck, but noted that there were no confirmed reports of injuries.

Video footage showed crowds of demonstrators hitting the truck and tearing down banners attached to its cargo bed. Some of the banners were written in English and read: “No to the Shah. No to the regime. United States, do not repeat 1953. No to the mullahs.”

The truck was seen speeding into the crowd, causing panic and prompting protesters to flee the area. Shortly afterward, the station said police officers were seen pushing the crowd back, while the truck driver continued to clash with a number of demonstrators.
