Pak Pong-ju was named North Korea prime minister

North Korea Monday announced the appointment of Pak Pong-Ju, an economics expert, as new prime minister in a reshuffle endorsed by its rubber-stamp parliament.

Pak took the oath at the annual meeting of the Supreme People's Assembly, the official news agency said. He replaces Choe Yong-Rim.
