MTV Website has learned that a delegation of German companies will arrive this week in Beirut to present a study on the reconstruction of Beirut port.
According to sources close to the German delegation, it will be headed by the Hamburg Port Consulting company (HPC), which is part of the Hamburg Port Group owned by the city of Hamburg with more than two-thirds of the majority.
Sources indicate that after the general presentation of the project to revive Beirut port and its surrounding areas next week, the full study will be available to everyone for electronic download on April 12. It will begin with an introduction by the Minister of State in the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (Undersecretary of the Ministry). According to sources close to HPC, the main goal of their participation is to create a transparent and independently-managed port for better Lebanese trade.
