Caretaker Health Minister Hamad Hassan confirmed on Friday the first cases of COVID-19 Delta variant in the country.

Hassan called on citizens, during a vaccination campaign in Dhour El-Choueir, in the presence of MP Elias Bou Saab, to receive the COVID-19 vaccine as soon as possible, because it is the only way to protect themselves in addition to preventive measures.

 "The epidemiological surveillance program at the Ministry of Public Health is working to identify the source of these cases," Hassan stated.
