Democratic Gathering bloc member, MP Wael Abou Faour, announced in a statement on Sunday that Progressive Socialist Party Chief, Walid Jumblatt, has donated 50,000 US dollars in cash as a first payment to Rashaya Governmental Hospital, “as a result of the intractable solutions to the electricity crisis, and in an effort to preserve the hospital and its role in caring for the people of the region."

"This will be followed by another payment to establish a solar energy system for the hospital, in addition to the efforts made by good people from the region, led by the great philanthropist Dr. Hayel Saeed, alongside a number of Lebanese community members residing in the United States, MP Ziad Abou Lteif, and a number of Lebanese expatriates in Canada," the statement added.

Abou Faour indicated that the solar energy works have kicked-off and are expected to be completed within two months, "to preserve this health edifice and develop its services for the benefit of all the people of the region."
