After 30 years of Christian absence in Brih, a village located in the Shouf district, where war flared up causing a massive displacement, here it comes the long-awaited woundseal. During a visit to Bkirki on Friday, the Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblatt revealed that the reconciliation in the Mountains has now been wrapped up.
"When Patriarch Al-Rai visited the Shouf last summer, we promised him to work on sealing the old wound sustained during the painful events that took place in the Mountains", MP Jumblatt told press reporters earlier in Bkiki.
"As the violations against Christian properties in Brih comes to an end, we thus draw the line at all the pains caused by the war in the Mountains", Jumblatt added, " and we will be soon holding an official reconciliation ceremony under the auspices of his beatitude along with the President".
Jumblat also stressed on the importance of dialogue, considering that Brih woundseal was the key issue discussed during the meeting.
