Mehr News Agency reported that the number of people injured in the earthquake that struck the Khorasan Razavi province in northeastern Iran has reached 29.
The agency noted that the seismic activity in the area registered five on the Richter scale.
Earlier, Iranian media reported 19 injuries from the earthquake, which hit five cities in Khorasan Razavi at a depth of 10 kilometers underground.
The agency stated in a statement: "Although the earthquake did not cause any material damage, it resulted in 29 injuries."
Mehr News Agency also mentioned that all injuries occurred while people were trying to flee from the earthquake. After receiving necessary medical treatment, all of the injured left the hospital, except for one person who remained there.
The earthquake affected residents in cities of Khorasan Razavi province, including Torbat Heydariyeh, Roshtkhar, Gonabad, and Taybad.
The agency also pointed out that the earthquake also affected the provincial capital, Mashhad, but did not clarify whether there were any injuries in this city.
On March 21, a 5.0 magnitude earthquake struck the Natanz area in Isfahan province, where a major nuclear site is located.
Reports indicated that there were no casualties from the earthquake, but it caused several windows to shatter in residential units across a number of villages.
