Reuters reported that the US military has deployed additional fighter jets to the Middle East amid escalating tensions between Israel and Iran.

Three US officials told Reuters that the US is expanding its deployment of fighter aircraft in the region, strengthening its military presence as the conflict intensifies.

One official said the deployment includes F-16, F-22, and F-35 fighter jets.

Two of the officials emphasized that the move is defensive in nature, noting that the aircraft have been used to intercept drones and projectiles.
