The Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip announced Sunday morning that 27 people, including children, were killed in Israeli strikes targeting multiple locations in the Strip, which has suffered widespread destruction from the ongoing 21-month war, according to Agence France-Presse.

Civil Defense spokesman Mahmoud Basal said, "The strikes, which were carried out before dawn and in the early morning, particularly hit homes and camps for displaced people."
