It appears that some supporters of Hezbollah, particularly those benefiting from smuggling and drug trafficking, both of which are supposed to be religiously forbidden, have expressed outrage over the Lebanese Army’s actions.
After the army carried out a strike in the Al-Sharawneh neighborhood of Baalbek, reportedly targeting one of the most wanted individuals, Ali Zaiter, known as “Abou Salleh,” Hezbollah supporters launched a campaign against President Joseph Aoun and Army Commander, General Rodolph Haykal. The campaign included direct insults and accusations of betrayal, continuing a recent pattern of abusive language used by some Hezbollah followers against President Aoun, crossing all ethical boundaries.
