President of the Republic Joseph Aoun inaugurated the Fourth Diaspora Economic Conference, affirming that “since the onset of the crisis, one lifeline has remained open, the Lebanese expatriate, proving that the diaspora has never been distant from Lebanon, but has always been its support and hope.” 

The President thanked expatriates for their continued efforts on behalf of the country.

“We need a genuine partnership, and we want the expatriate to be both an investor and a partner in decision-making,” Aoun said, stressing the necessity of reintegrating Lebanon into a productive regional role and ensuring the diaspora’s participation in reconstruction and major regional projects. Moreover, Aoun called for “serious economic diplomacy,” noting the conference’s potential to create new opportunities with Arab partners.

Separately, President Aoun was briefed by Minister of Labor Mohammad Haidar on his recent visit to Iraq and meetings with Iraqi officials, including Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani.
