Grand Mufti of the Lebanese Republic, Sheikh Abdul Latif Derian, returned to Beirut from Cairo, after participating in the International Islamic Conference organized by the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, in Cairo, titled “The Making of the Competent Mufti in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.”

Prior to his return, he along with the delegations participating in the conference met with the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmed el-Tayeb, who promised the Mufti that he would accept the invitation to visit Lebanon as soon as possible.

Mufti Derian hailed the role of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif on the Islamic and Arab levels through its missions in the Islamic, Arab and Western countries. Mufti Derian also stressed the importance of coordination, cooperation and communication between Dar Al-Fatwa in the Lebanese Republic and the Sheikhdom of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif.
