Prime Minister Nawaf Salam said in a speech he delivered at the Rashid Karami International Fair in Tripoli: "This national landmark was not built to remain a silent monument, but rather to be a vibrant space for economic, cultural, and social activity and a true lever for development."

Premier Salam also stressed that "the decision to restrict arms to the authority of the state has been taken,” adding that “in the absence of this, there is no security or stability, and without security and stability, there are no investments nor economic growth."
