Jordanian Prime Minister Jafar Hassan affirmed that “the reality does not point to the illusion of Greater Israel, but rather to a shunned, isolated, embattled, and besieged Israel, due to its policies of brutality and extremism.” His remarks were reported by the Jordanian news agency Petra during official talks with Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, currently visiting Amman.
Hassan added, “We hear of visions and proposals aimed at sustaining an endless war, like the illusions of Greater Israel held by extremist Israeli politicians. But in reality, these policies only deepen hatred and resentment as the massacres continue, crimes for which the peoples of the world and the region will not forgive.”
The Jordanian PM went on to condemn the ongoing Israeli occupation of Lebanese territory, stressing the need to fully implement the ceasefire agreement and halt continued violations of Lebanese sovereignty. He also underscored the urgent necessity of ending the war on Gaza, stopping assaults in the West Bank, and defusing dangerous escalation across the region.
Hassan declared that “Israel bears full humanitarian and legal responsibility for the collapse of the relief system in Gaza,” pointing to the daily tragedy unfolding there. “We are witnessing starvation, killings, and massacres every day in Gaza,” Hassan said, calling for the immediate opening of all crossings to ensure the delivery of vital humanitarian aid.
For his part, Prime Minister Nawaf Salam praised Jordan’s steadfast support for Lebanon under the leadership of King Abdullah II, describing it as “a historic and strategic stance that is deeply appreciated.” Salam echoed his Jordanian counterpart’s remarks, stating that “Israel is sinking from one stage of isolation to another in light of its actions in Gaza and the West Bank.”
