Prime Minister Nawaf Salam met with a delegation from the Islamic National Forum, headed by Jamil Qatirji, at the Grand Serail earlier today. The discussions focused on the current situation in Lebanon and the broader region.
After the meeting, Qatirji stated, "A delegation from the Islamic National Forum visited Prime Minister Salam to review the general conditions in Lebanon and the region. We praised the national positions recently expressed by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and reiterated our full support for his distinguished efforts."
Qatirji added that the delegation emphasized the importance of fully implementing the Taif Agreement, strengthening ties with Arab nations, ensuring justice across all state institutions, and maintaining balance and equality among all segments of society. He also stressed the need to preserve coexistence, security, and national progress.
"The Forum is confident that Prime Minister Salam, through his wisdom and position, is the key to achieving a strong, just state," Qatirji concluded.
In a separate meeting, Prime Minister Salam also received a delegation from the Beirut Order of Physicians, led by Syndicate President Professor Elias Chelala.
Following their discussions, Chelala said, "We visited Prime Minister Salam to discuss various issues concerning the healthcare sector and the challenges faced by doctors in Lebanon. We asked for his support in securing health coverage for doctors under social security and in advancing a fair law that protects both citizens and medical professionals."
Chelala added that the proposed law is currently being reviewed by the Syndicate and will be presented to the Parliamentary Health Committee once finalized.
