President Joseph Aoun condemned the Israeli attack on the brotherly state of Qatar, which targeted residential premises of several members of Hamas’ political bureau responsible for negotiating an end to the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and putting a stop to the massacres committed by Israel against the Palestinian people.
He stated: “This brutal attack, which violated the sovereignty of a sister Arab state, is part of a series of assaults carried out by Israel, demonstrating its determination to undermine all efforts to achieve stability and security in the region and safety for its peoples. It also once again highlights the disregard for the lives of innocent civilians, including the Qatari people, as is the case for all peoples in the region.”
President Aoun reaffirmed Lebanon’s solidarity with the brotherly state of Qatar, and its support in condemning this criminal aggression. He called on the international community to put an end to these Israeli practices, which continue to violate all laws and international agreements and obstruct Qatar’s efforts to establish peace in the region and alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.
