President of the Republic Joseph Aoun welcomed Minister of Public Works and Transport Fayez Rasamny at Baabda Palace. 

Following the meeting, Rasamny announced that the government was committed to awarding Qlayaat Airport project within the first three months of next year.

Moreover, the Minister noted that the file has been formally transferred to the newly established Civil Aviation Regulatory Authority, appointed through the Civil Service Board, which now carries major responsibilities, foremost among them Qlayaat project, alongside overseeing the expansion of Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport.

Rasamny further stressed that the primary objective was to enhance aviation safety and security standards, increase passenger capacity to meet tourism market demands, and stimulate economic activity through improved infrastructure.
