The announcement by Hezbollah to raise images of its two former secretaries-general on the Raouche Rock as part of the first anniversary of their assassination has sparked reactions.
MP Waddah Sadek wrote on X:
"Raising the images of Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah and Hashem Safieddine in Raouche Rock is unacceptable from every perspective; they are not official figures, and their pictures are being displayed in a city whose majority rejects their politics. Some even accuse them of involvement in the killing of their own leader. Moreover, Hezbollah, as usual, warns against being drawn into a civil war but does not miss any opportunity to provoke the people of Beirut. We must not forget that this tragic day remains deeply etched in the memory of Beirut residents.
The government, which has shown strength in its decisions, must prevent Hezbollah and others from any provocative actions, in order to preserve civil peace in the country."
