The General Directorate of State Security announced that its Beirut Port office has launched a judicial investigation into corruption involving ten customs employees accused of repeatedly accepting bribes in exchange for processing administrative transactions.
The employees confessed to the charges during questioning. Acting on instructions from the Financial Public Prosecutor, they were reassigned to different posts and remain under investigation.
The case has been referred to the competent judiciary for further legal action, as part of State Security’s ongoing efforts to combat corruption and safeguard public funds.
