The Lebanese Army – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
As part of efforts to combat drug trafficking across Lebanon, and following surveillance and monitoring of drug trafficking gangs in the Bekaa region, an intelligence directorate patrol, supported by an army unit, raided a facility in the town of Bodai – Baalbek.
The operation resulted in the seizure of approximately 64 million Captagon pills, 79 barrels of chemicals used in drug production, and several machines used in manufacturing. This is considered one of the largest drug hauls recorded on Lebanese soil.
The seized materials have been handed over to the authorities, and efforts are ongoing to arrest the gang members operating the facility.
