Prime Minister Nawaf Salam welcomed President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Jarwan, at the Grand Serail.
Following the meeting, Al-Jarwan expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to consult with Prime Minister Salam on ways to promote the values of tolerance and peace.
"We are honored to meet today with Prime Minister Salam to discuss the Lebanese vision of spreading values of tolerance and peace. We have many ideas that we believe we can share with the Lebanese people, leadership, and the intellectual elites who support love, peace, and tolerance,” Al-Jarwan said.
"As is well known, Lebanon is the country of peace and love, despite all the challenges it faces both regionally and internally. The Lebanese people are deeply committed to life, coexistence, and a positive outlook on the world. Therefore, the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace has a strong desire to engage and collaborate with Lebanon’s elites, people, and wise leadership under President Joseph Aoun to navigate Lebanon through the current challenges,” Al-Jarwan added.
Al-Jarwan reiterated the Council's deep appreciation for being present in Lebanon, emphasizing the partnership with the Lebanese people and elites, working for the common good and humanity. He noted, "Our message to the world from within Lebanon is clear: Lebanon aspires for peace and works for stability and a future that ensures a dignified life for future generations."
He added that the Council spans over 120 countries and has numerous partnerships, memorandums of understanding, and high-level agreements. "We view our presence in Lebanon as enriching our work globally. From the discussions we’ve had and the documentation we've provided, we’ve received a positive response from Prime Minister Salam, and we firmly believe that his leadership and the Lebanese people will support everything that advances tolerance and peace," Al-Jarwan concluded, thanking those who facilitated the mission in Lebanon.
