The website “Antalya Hakkında” reported a new fire breaking out between the Kundu and Belek areas, adding to a series of consecutive fires that erupted in Alanya and Muratpaşa in Turkey’s Antalya province.
According to the site, the cause of the fire has not yet been determined. Firefighting teams from the Greater Antalya Municipality, the Regional Forestry Directorate, and security forces were dispatched to the area following the report. While efforts to extinguish the flames continue, the teams have activated a state of alert in case the fire spreads to surrounding areas due to strong winds.
Residents in the area were directed to safe zones as a precautionary measure. Teams continue their intensive fight against the fire, which turned night into day due to the flames.
According to obtained information, a fire broke out in a forested area in the village of Kumluca in the Aksu district around 9:00 PM for reasons yet to be determined. Firefighting teams from the Greater Antalya Municipality and a large number of water trucks from the Regional Forestry Directorate were sent to the area.
When the fire approached areas with strawberry greenhouses, the teams prioritized protecting agricultural land.
The fire is moving toward the sea and is currently far from populated areas. Firefighting teams continue intensive efforts to prevent the fire from spreading to those areas.
