The Lebanese General Security Media Affairs Office issued the following statement:
“As part of the ongoing cooperation between the General Directorate of General Security and the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), an official ceremony was held on September 25, 2025, at the UNIFIL headquarters in Naqoura to receive a donation from UNIFIL to General Security, consisting of a number of four-wheel-drive vehicles.
The ceremony was attended by UNIFIL Commander General Diodato Abagnara, Brigadier General Fawzi Chamoun representing the General Directorate of General Security, along with several officers from both sides.
In his speech, Brigadier General Chamoun, on behalf of General Security Director General Major General Hassan Choucair, expressed gratitude to UNIFIL for this generous donation, emphasizing that it strengthens the bonds of cooperation between the two parties and reaffirming General Security’s commitment to continue coordinating with UNIFIL to serve shared goals, particularly the preservation of humanitarian values.
For his part, General Abagnara expressed UNIFIL’s confidence in General Security and hoped that the donation would support its efforts to protect Lebanon.
The ceremony ended with an exchange of commemorative shields.”
