Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri received Army Intelligence Chief Brigadier General Tony Kahwaji, at the second presidential headquarters in Ain al-Tineh.

Speaker Berri also received in Ain El-Tineh, the head of the Alawite Islamic Council, Sheikh Ali Kaddour, with whom he discussed the general situation and the latest political developments.
Sheikh Kaddour briefed Speaker Berri on the sect's situation and its rights in public institutions’ posts, and the laws and legislation related to it in Parliament.
Speaking on emerging, Sheikh Kaddour described his meeting with Speaker Berri as fruitful and positive. The Sheikh also affirmed that ‘’commitment to the Taif Agreement is the only way to save Lebanon from all its crises."
