Syrian media reported that four Syrian army personnel have been killed after a bus was hit by an explosive device near the town of Saalu, east of Deir ez-Zor.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a military bus belonging to the Ministry of Defense was targeted by an explosive device on the main road between Deir ez-Zor and al-Mayadin, near the village of Saalu in eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside, resulting in deaths and injuries. The observatory added that the death toll is likely to rise, as some of the wounded are in critical condition.
