Minister of Interior Ahmed Hajjar said at the inauguration of the new Civil Defense Center in the town of Barja: "The government is committed to extending the state's authority and sovereignty over the entire territory with its own forces exclusively. We are seeking, by all diplomatic means and methods, to achieve the withdrawal of the Israeli enemy from every iota of the beloved south, to halt its daily attacks, and to return the prisoners to the homeland."
Minister Hajjar also affirmed that "the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities is committed to holding parliamentary elections on their constitutional date in May 2026,” saying, “We have begun preparations to achieve this entitlement in accordance with the highest standards of transparency, impartiality, and integrity. We hope that this anticipated entitlement will be a launching pad for a bright new tomorrow.
