Watch: Earthquake and Building Collapses
An earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale struck Balıkesir Province in western Turkey, according to the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).

In detail, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 5.99 kilometers and was felt by residents of Istanbul, Izmir, and several other provinces in the Marmara and Aegean regions.
