The city of Nabatieh and its surrounding areas awoke to tragedy after an Israeli airstrike claimed the lives of four young men and injured three others late Saturday night. The victims were targeted while traveling in a Range Rover on the eastern outskirts of Kfar Rumman.
The city, still mourning the death of delivery worker Hassan Hamed Ghaith who was killed in an Israeli strike on Shoukin Road, was preparing to lay him to rest this Sunday afternoon. The day was also meant to mark the anniversary of the municipal massacre in which 13 people, including Mayor Dr. Ahmed Kaheel, were killed during the 66-Day War.
According to local sources, the airstrike killed Mohammad Al-Jawad Mustafa Jaber, the brother of martyr Ragheb Jaber who died in the municipal massacre, along with Abdullah Ghaleb Kaheel and Mohammad Abbas Kaheel. Hadi Mustafa Hamed was among those injured. Two others riding a passing motorcycle were also wounded in the blast.
The explosion completely destroyed the targeted vehicle and shattered windows in dozens of homes across the Doha neighborhood, a largely residential area.
