Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Rahi pointed out that “Lebanon is experiencing a debate about its identity and destiny, and it is in dire need of those who give voice to the truth.”

In his Sunday Mass sermon, Rahi emphasized that the country’s salvation does not lie in speeches but in actions, and that every official is called to ask themselves, “Am I faithful to my trust?” He considered that “renewing the pledge is a form of renewing the national conscience.”

Rahi also offered prayers for peace in Ukraine “so that the dawn of hope may rise and the weapon of injustice be lifted,” affirming that “no country has a future if it is built on hatred and violence.”
