On the occasion of Independence Day, the Embassy of Brazil posted the following greeting on its page:
"The Embassy of Brazil extends its warm greetings to the people and the State of Lebanon on the occasion of its Independence Day. Brazil’s ties with Lebanon date back to the very early years of the Lebanese Republic: Brazil recognized Lebanon’s independence in 1944, and, in 1945, established its Legation in Beirut. As we celebrate this year the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Brazil and Lebanon, we honor the historic bonds between our nations. Brazil is proud to host the largest Lebanese community aroad, whose presence has deeply enriched Brazil’s social, economic, and cultural life.
Over eight decades, Brazil and Lebanon have built a strong partnership grounded in the close affinity between our societies.
On this 22 November, we reaffirm our commitment to peace, stability and prosperity in Lebanon. Happy Independence Day, Lebanese friends!"
